This is Katie Cavanaugh and she's my twin sister. We've been together through thick and thin and are best friends. Even though we are polar opposites, we are the closest twins anyone will ever meet. While taking these photos, I took the colored photo outside and used the sun as my advantage. The lighting really made the colors and the subject become more vibrant. When taking the other photo inside, I made sure that the subject was near a window so that natural light was included in the picture. Some challenges I faced while taking these photos was to make sure, especially outside, that the sunlight didn't directly hit the side of the subject's face creating harsh shadows. While taking these portraits, I felt very accomplished when I was able to include the texture in the flowers and pumpkin (colored picture). I also thought I did well on the framing because I was able to include the background that didn't affect the picture or the subject.
This is Ricky Cavanaugh and he's my little brother. He just turned 13 years old in September. He's very active in sports and will be joining me in high school next year. While taking these photos, I took both of them inside. I tried to arrange the best possible image by trying to take photos without the subject knowing (Ricky caught me taking a photo in the black and white image). When taking the photos inside, the lighting wasn't the best and often made the image appear blurry. I tried to take multiple shots that were clear and sharp, but I had a lack of natural light which prevented me from getting a crisp photo. Some accomplishments that I did was that I was able to get the relaxed normal images instead of the subject posing for the camera. These photos were taken spontaneously, which is also know as Candid Portraits.
